Barack Obama has deceived America. While promising the moon he has delivered the darkness of despair. Government has become more obtrusive and controlling of every aspect of our lives. The sunshine of American liberty is becoming eclipsed by a barrage of bureaucratic controls. Obama cannot help it, however, since his ruling philosophy, socialism, is itself a beguiling system in which he himself is apparently entangled.  For those who cared to learn about his background, his betrayal was predicted.

Consider. Envy (feelings of displeasure at the prosperity of others) is condemned in the Bible (Titus 3:3). Socialism, while it pretends fair play and “preaches” against awful envy in the heart of the capitalist, in turn actually enshrines envy. How so? Masses cheer when government promises to take from the “haves and give to the have not’s.” Obama explained to Joe the Plumber that he wanted to referee the distribution of goods so that those “behind” might have a chance.

But what occurs? People are hardened to “demand benefits” from the government—benefits that are actually produced by the labor of others, or services (such as health care) that another must provide with their time and expertise. Somehow, through this beguiling science known as “socialism,” my labor or production becomes a “right” that belongs to someone else! Deception and envy enshrined.

Max Eastman

Max Eastman, in his Reflections on the Failure of Socialism, tells us why socialism is always a failure. “It seemed perfectly clear, once the question was boldly put, that if the socialist hypothesis were valid in general, some tiny shred of the benefits promised by it would have appeared when the Russian capitalists were expropriated and production taken over by the state, no matter how untoward the circumstances. By that time everything in Russia was worse from the standpoint of socialist ideals that it had been under the regime of the Tsar.  I did not need any additional experiments such as that of Nazi Germany, or inEngland, to the obvious drift in other countries, to convince me.  I was sure than the whole idea of extending freedom, or justice, or equality, or any other civilized value, to the lower classes through common ownership of the means of production was a delusive dream, a bubble that had taken over a century to burst.”

So powerful was the deception that it took Eastman many long years to come to his senses and reject socialism. “I sadly regret the precious twenty years I spent muddling and messing around with this idea, which with enough mental clarity and moral force I might have seen through when I went toRussia in 1922.”

America had better reject Barack Obama or spend the rest of its free existence “muddling and messing around” with the failed policies of statism.

Social Justice, which Obama proudly champions, is a socialistic term that is in itself a deception. Social Justice, defined by the National Association of Scholars as the “advocacy of more egalitarian access to income through state-sponsored redistribution.” This is certainly not just, and it does not produce a better society. Remodeling the whole of society to “help the poor” will harm everyone. But Obama believes in Social Justice more than the American Constitution and will continue to exploit class, race and gender narratives in order to achieve his vision for a Marxist-styleAmerica.
