Bill Lockwood is curently a teacher in the Wichita Falls ISD as well as a preacher for the Iowa Park Church of Christ in Iowa Park, TX.  His Bachelor’s degree is in bible and his Master’s degree is in Church History from the Harding Graduate School of Religion in Memphis, TN.  He has debated the topic of atheism, as well as the religion of Islam.

Field of Studies:

For many years, Bill’s primary field in historical studies has been American history with emphasis upon the Constitutional period.  As with the Bible, so with the Constitution, he believes only that which is authorized is valid. Further, as America becomes increasingly immoral, our Constitutional form of government disappears. As Founding Father Benjamin Franklin stated, “Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters.”  John Adams warned, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”  Bill firmly believes these wise men and, therefore, ties religious instruction to American freedoms.

Viewpoints:

Bill believes the Constitution restrains the federal government and stresses that an expanding government is not constitutional, according to Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution.

“There are 20 specified powers of Congress, and all the other powers are left for the states,” Lockwood said, “The Founding Fathers were wary of an expanding federal government.”
