Arizona Wars and Obama’s Sleight of Hand

Thousands of opponents, including politicians from other states, flocked to the state Capitol on Sunday to protest Gov. Brewer signing the bill into law on Friday. Rep. Raul Grijalva (D., Ariz.) urged the Obama administration not to cooperate if illegal immigrants are picked up by local police. “We’re going to overturn this unjust and racist law, and then we’re going to overturn the power structure that created this unjust, racist law,” Grijalva said, according to the Associated Press.

Rep. Raul Grijalva shows his true colors here—and it is not the red, white and blue.  Instead of upholding the rule of law he seeks to overturn it.  Not only so, he wants to “overturn” the “power structure” that created this law.  Raul Grijalva is not interested in the Constitution—for the law recently passed only strengthens the existing law. He is not interested in the rule of law—because illegal immigrants, whom he here defends, are lawbreakers.  Further, he needs to go and learn about real “racism.” Racism is closer to defending Mexican nationals who call themselves “La Raza”—the people, or the race—than defending our borders against the invasion from the south.

 National Council of La Raza President Janet Murguia said that health care reform should include “everyone,”  and this means illegal immigrants as well because with more people paying into the system it might lower the costs of health care.
 
Speaking to reporters Thursday at a press conference in support of President Barack Obama’s efforts to pass a government-led overhaul of the nation’s health care system, Murguia said that while the issue of illegal immigrants was politically difficult, there were “strong” arguments for covering the illegals.
 
“From our perspective there’s a strong case to be made in this country for us to reform health care [and] it ought to include everyone,” said Murguia. (CNSNews.com).

The real issue comes out here. The National Council of La Raza not only desires to overturn the recent Arizona beefing-up border security and deportation laws, but wishes to allow non-citizens to drink from the well of taxpayer subsidy via the Health Care Reform.  Let alone the fact that Americans have already been forced to subsidize through emergency room care the hospitalization of illegal immigrants—so much so that many hospitals in southern California have already shut down because they cannot continue to operate in the red. Now Janet Marguia wants the rest of the southwest’s hospitals to fail as well.  A crass call for more re-distribution is this.  Americans have had enough.

“Right now, there’s a case to be made in the long term for including as many people as possible because it’s more cost-effective and because there’s better health results and all of that,” said Murguia. “In terms of fairness and cost efficiencies I think it’s in the interest of health care reform to have access to as many people as possible.”

Cost-effective? Where in the world has socialistic redistribution of wealth ever been cost effective?  No country in the history of the world or in any portion of the globe has ever cut costs by taking from the “rich” and “giving to the poor.”  Handing out freebies to those who are without does not “cut costs” Ms. Murguia.  It increases them because I will have to pay, not only for my own health care, but for yours as well.

 In a speech in September, President Obama said: “I also want to make this clear: Even though I do not believe we can extend coverage to those who are here illegally, I also don’t simply believe we can ignore the fact that our immigration system is broken.”
 
“If anything, this debate underscores the necessity of passing comprehensive immigration reform and resolving the issue of 12 million undocumented people living and working in this country once and for all,” Obama said.

Here we begin to see what Obama has been trying to hide all along. While it may be technically true  that he does not believe that illegal aliens are to be covered in his health care reform—that is only because he plans on granting them amnesty—giving full citizenship—then robbing the taxpayer to cover their costs!  Anytime one sees the word “comprehensive” in an immigration “reform” bill, that simply means amnesty.  Once more, Obama is using “sleight of hand” to deceive the public. Perhaps he ought to apologize to the Oklahoma Congressman who bellowed out calling him a “liar” during his State of the Union speech and confess his prevarication.  For, after all, Obama had planned all the while to grant health care coverage to all illegal aliens—after he had crammed amnesty down America’s throats.
   

Let Obama Clarify?

     Jacob Weisberg writes in the Dallas Morning News (3-12-10) an editorial “Liberals for Limited Government.”  He states: “Even now that the fear of excessive, irreversible public-sector growth has provoked an agenda-stalling backlash and resulted in serious people claiming that his proposals equate to socialism, Obama has yet to clarify his ambiguous view of government’s role.”

With the specter of Socialism rising clearly before the country, Weisberg wishes President Obama to “clarify” his “ambiguous view of government’s role.” There is a problem here, but not as Weisberg portrays.  What is problematic is not that Obama “has yet to clarify,” but that the media continually wish him to do so when his record and his agenda speak clearly enough for themselves.  What would we benefit from Obama mounting the public platform to assure us that there is “no socialism” involved?  Denials notwithstanding,  Obama’s plan is nothing less than a collectivist-style government about which our Founding Fathers warned.  Government intrusion into the market-place for control is socialism, whether the President so confesses it or not.  It is in the tradition of socialist-laden policies of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson and even Lyndon Johnson.  It is in the tradition of socialist radical Saul Alinsky, whose methodology Obama actually taught.  One reason we are in “crisis-mode” in America is because the major media never seemed to be concerned with really vetting Obama—just let “him clarify.” It is not the lack of “clarification” that bothers us, Mr. Weisberg, it is what we do know that alarms the American people.
